Canadian electropop mastermind Lights (Valerie Anne Poxleitner) is gearing up to launch a hugely ambitious project including a new album and a comic written and illustrated by herself.
The project is called “Skin & Earth” and consists of a new album coming in fall 2017, as well as a comic book series debuting digitally in May and in print on July via Dynamite Entertainment. The comic will come out monthly, with each issue featuring new music, all leading up to the new album.

- I feel my whole life has lead up to a project like this. It’s a complete convergence of everything I love – music, comics, post-apocalyptic romance, crystals, wine and powerful ladies, all perfectly entwined. It’ll be by far my most care-free and fierce album yet. I think now, more than ever, people need a reason to listen to a whole record, and this is mine.
The comic series follows a young woman called En (a reflection of Lights herself) as she struggles to find hope in a hopeless world. Check out a teaser below.
