Alison Moyet mostly left her electronic synthpop days behind when Yazoo called it quits in 1982 (although she toured with Yazoo not so long ago, of course). A very succesful solo career then took her to the charts again, and right now she’s in the studio with Guy Sigsworth who has written for Björk, Madonna and Britney Spears amongst others. He was also member of the electronic duo Frou Frou, with Imogen Heap on vocals. They’re working on a new album slated for a late 2012 or early 2013 release. In a recent interview with Touchbase Magazine she says that she’s taking her time with the new material, because she wants to get it right.
She also says it’s quite dark and electronic and not aimed at the charts, which sounds intriguing. Should be interesting to see what she comes up with.
