Synthesizer wizard Kebu celebrates Finland
Mar 2018 28

Finnish composer and synthesizer wizard Kebu (Sebastian Teir) was commissioned by his birth town Kristiinankaupunki to write a piece to commemorate Finland’s 100 years of independence.

The result was a 17 minute piece entitled “Kring Havet – Meren Ympärillä” (roughly “About the Sea”). The debut performance was held on the 6th of December 2017, Finland’s independence day, and featured a 100 person choir, orchestral percussion and synthesizers.

Here is a video of the prelude filmed at the performance.

An EP of the live performance will be released on April 6th via Secret/ZYX, and is available on Kebu’s Bandcamp page.
