Client introduces new vocalist Nicole on single “You Can Dance”

UK synthpoppers Client took a long break after Sarah Blackwood left the band about 3 years ago (she is back in her old band Dubstar by the way). Now mastermind Kate Holmes has recruited new skilled vocalist Client N (Nicole) from Bristol.

Nicole has a solo career of her own as a singer/songwriter and has previously been in various music projects alongside her daytime work as a PR manager for an independent label. She has recorded with Angelo Bruschini (Massive Attack, Alison Moyet) and Andy Henderson (Roni Size, Mick Fleetwood).

Holmes’ former collegue in the band Technique, Xan Tyler, was initially supposed to take over the microphone after Blackwood’s departure.

The video (inspired by artist Maude Trout’s painting “Death of Responsibility”) for the new song “You Can Dance” is out and the single is set for a December 13 release on Out of Line in Berlin. The new sound is quite different from the old – dreamy, more stream-lined synthpop. “You Can Dance” also contains the B-side “XXX-Action”. Client’s fifth studio album “Authority” is being prepared as we speak.

Nowadays, Client is also a lifestyle and clothes brand from Kate Holmes.
