Last year, Canada’s Artoffact Records signed Portion Control and plans to release new music and reissue the back catalogue as a series of remastered box sets with unreleased tracks included. This legendary British band influenced Depeche Mode, Nitzer Ebb, Skinny Puppy, Front Line Assembly, Nine Inch Nails and Orbital, to name but a few
First in line is “1983-86 – Hit the Pulse to Purge…”, to be released on August 14. It consists of four CD:s with 74 remastered tracks, mainly “Hit The Pulse” (1983), “..Step Forward” (1984) and “Psycho Bod Saves the World” (1986) with its unique fusion of hard electronics, pop and punk attitude, several singles plus the “Purge” EP (1986). We also get B-sides, compilation tracks, rarities, remixes, demos and two concert recordings from 1984 and 1985.
They visit Sweden frequently, and delivered a knock-out performance in Release’s hometown in May, as support to Front Line Assembly, one of the bands they’ve influenced.
