Biomekkanik signs with Dependent as a trio

After leaving bodypop duo Spark!, Christer Hermodsson is relaunching his electronic progressive pop project Biomekkanik – this time as a trio on Dependent.

After a ten-year hiatus, a brand new album scheduled for release in 2026 on Germany’s Dependent Records. The label will also take over their previous full-length album, “Violently Beautiful”.

- Although Biomekkanik have been silent for a decade, the songwriting never stopped, Christer says. As a result, our hard drives are filled to the brim with songs, rhythms, and words. There is still so much to say. With the support of our unwavering fans and this most important signing to Dependent Records, this beast is finally coming back to life again!

Hermodsson’s resume is impressive: as a member in Spark! and S.P.O.C.K, and as a producer for And One, Page, Cat Rapes Dog and Sista mannen på jorden. I watched him perform with Sista mannen på jorden in Gothenburg in late March – and it sounded great as always. In Biomekkanik, he is joined by guitarist Mattias Johansson and new recruit Sandra Mattson from Morlocks. Hermodsson was impressed with what she did on stage when they toured USA with KMFDM, and Morlocks is no more after leader J Strauss’ tragic passing.
