Best of 2009, according to Release
In Best of 09 we present the best albums, songs, live artists, newcomers and artists 2009, according to the Release writers. Depeche Mode is only listed in one instance, for a non album track...

Arvid's debut album “Andetag” was released in May 2009, daring to take up competition with classic pop acts like Ratata. It has been rather quiet around Arvid so far, but in January he won a Swedish Manifest award. He tells Release a new single is on its way.
To the Spotlight

Mindinabox
Italo disco is often mentioned as inspiration or ingredient in music we cover. The genre's popularity has grown the past ten years with new labels, new releases, rereleases - and astronomical prices for rarities. Niklas Forsberg spoke with one of the men behind the label I Venti d'Azzurro Records and tried to reach the core of the italo phenomenon.
To the Spotlight

Röyksopp
The Röyksopp phenomenon is an obscure blend of dance beats, ambient layering and Scandinavian melancholy. Their latest masterpiece "Junior" was released in February, and this complex album featured guest vocals from Karin Dreijer Andersson (The Knife, Fever Ray), Robyn, Lykke Li and Anneli Drecker (Bel Canto). Peter Marchione caught Torbjørn Brundtland in between albums "Junior" and "Senior".
To the Spotlight

Gary Numan in Scotland
Fredrik "Schlatta" Svensson writes about his stormy trip to Edinburgh and Gary Numan's concert.

Mindinabox
2009 has been a very strong year, considering most of the big electronic acts have released new albums to the world. Mesh are no different, bringing us "A Perfect Solution", a first in several ways for the popular Brits. We follow up our big 2006 Spotlight by asking them a few questions about the new album, the loss of a band member and the future.

Mindinabox
Even with that many albums under their belt, Mind.in.a.box still hadn't played live until this year’s Arvika festival, where Johan Carlsson met up with them to chat for a bit.
