EMI has compiled a quite intriguing double album entitled “Electrospective”, chronicling electronic music from way back up to today. They’ve managed to include a whole bunch of big names such as Roxy Music, Depeche Mode, Ultravox, Yazoo, Pet Shop Boys, Nitzer Ebb (pic), Inner City, Moby, Future Sound of London, Daft Punk, Radiohead, Goldfrapp, Deadmau5, Swedish House Mafia and many many more. Unfortunately, there’s not many rare or exclusive tracks, although there are some recent remasters. However, there’s also a companion remix album that features a whole bunch of interesting remixes of electronic tracks. Here we can find some of the same artists as the basic album, but also Kelis, Simple Minds, The Grid, William Orbit etc etc.
It makes for a very interesting journey through “our” genre. Seems to be well worth checkin out. It’s available on all digital outlets including Spotify, Amazon and Itunes, as well as a physical edition.
