After the news of Aphex Twin releasing his first album in 13 years, the last 2 weeks have provided a flurry of activity – here is an update.
The speculation regarding the new album originally came in the form of a blimp with the Aphex Twin logo inside the 0 of 2014 floating in the East London sky.
Then a barely understandable press release followed, announcing the date of the new album release “SYRO” – set at 22nd September 2014, plus the track listing for the 12 tracks that are scheduled to feature on the album.
The most recent update came yesterday (Sunday 31st August), with listening events being announced across major cities around Europe, Canada and the US between the 5th and 10th of September. The events are lottery-selected, with people being able to put forward their email address, with the hope of being selected, via the Warp records site.
