British synthpop band White Door was formed out of a prog rock band called Grace, and only released one album, “Windows”, in 1983 before they went silent. It was critically acclaimed but never really got much attention. However it turned out to be very influential.

Swedish synthpop maestro Johan Baeckström – the man behind Daily Planet, and also solo material – was so enamored by the album that its influences can be heard quite clearly in his output. He even made a cover of one of their tracks, and also invited the singer Mac Austin to do vocals on the Daily Planet track “Heaven Opened”. And now Mac Austin has announced that Johan is drafted in as a producer on a new White Door album!

A short snippet of what it might sound like can be found below. No word on any release dates or singles yet.
