INTUITION
FURTHER
ALBUM A DIFFERENT DRUM RELEASE: APRIL-MAY, 2003 REVIEW: MAY 23, 2003

Intuition is a band bound to be compared with Erasure. As things are now though, I tend to feel that's an unfair comparison. Unfair to Intuition. Erasure, well on their way into oblivion as a result of their latest albums (I still find them OK, but they didn't do well commercially), are still dear to me personally, but Intuition reinvents and updates the original Erasure formula in a most refreshing manner. The vocal styling bears no trace of annoying tone deafness or false sounding accents, the musical foundation is not overly retro (mind you, people will still label this retro) and the production flows beautifully. More importantly, "Further" is an intensely emotional ride for a synthpop nut like me, keeping me on my toes, drooling like one of Pavlov's mutts, all the way to the end. This is twelve fantastic sounding songs on a debut album many surely, involuntarily, will miss in the flow of so-so and downright crappy electropop released today.
I will stay true to the cliche of praising by saying that there is no point in mentioning
specific tracks on "Further" as it all follows the path leading right up my, and, I dare say it, all synthpoppers alleys. The single track "Two" will stay with me for years to come.
