Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross have won an Oscar for "The Social Network" (Best Original Score). They are currently working on the soundtrack to "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo", David Fincher's film adaptation of the Swedish bestseller "Män som hatar kvinnor".


Former Strip Music and Yvonne front man goes solo

Former Strip Music and Yvonne frontman, Henric de la Cour, returns with what appears to be a somewhat more electronically orientated solo project. A while ago the first sign of musical life was uploaded to YouTube: a dark, yet catchy tune called "Dogs".


30th anniversary for In the Nursery

This year UK's In the Nursery celebrates 30 years and the twin brothers in the band turn 50. On April 25 we get to hear their new album "Blind Sound" and they have (so far) two festival performances coming up: Sensoria Festival in Sheffield and Amphi Festival in Cologne.


Erasure commence recording of the new album and add further live dates

On the February 16 recording of the new Erasure album started in Vince Clarke's studio The Cabin in Maine, US. Joining Erasure in the studio is producer Vincent Frank, Frankmusic, known from Pet Shop Boys and Lady Gaga remix fame as well as his own projects. The first comment states that the sound is in the true Croydon style (Vincent Frank's home town).

In addition to the already announced forest tour dates of the "Total Pop! Tour" in the summer an additional array of event was recently revealed. Erasure will play Dublin, Cork, Berlin, Copenhagen and Hamburg in June and St Petersburg, Moscow and Kiew in July. Further dates are in the pipeline.

In the middle of May Erasure will be a part of the Short Circuit Mute festival at the Roundhouse in London. Some very special (so far unrevealed) guests will join them. Confirmed is Alison Moyet, who states on her website that there will be two or three Yazoo songs performed.


Jimmy Somerville goes electronic again

After the acoustic album "Suddenly Last Summer" in 2009, former Bronski Beat and Communards front man Jimmy Somerville is back with an electronic dance record. "Bright Thing" is an EP filled with new tracks and remixes, and it's out now digitally. It sounds good too.
