Suggestions

We asked our readers how we can improve this site.

More Spotlights
A lot of people ask for more Spotlights. In other words interviews and longer texts. We start right away!
Articles was the backbone of the printed Release and we would be happy to publish more Spotlights in the net Release. We want to make a complete magazine. We actually love extensive in-depth texts.

Search function
This is something we have planned for a long time and hope to introduce in the near future. And let's get databased and see what comes out of that. We could easily list 50 improvements originating from the database and script areas. It would speed up our work, at least.
We are looking into more advanced technical solutions at present.

Design upgrade
It pains us, not being able to do more about the design matters, especially since we have so many ideas. But as you know we focus on content, the quality of that and updates. And we all know what usually happens to big budget flashy state-of-the-art sites. No, we could do so much more.
Among the various suggestions for layout and form changes, one is dominant. Our black background with white text might look a bit cool and fit our music and style, but it is somewhat difficult to read. We will reconsider this at the next major design update. One is needed, we know. We will start with minor improvements, planned since long.

List with forthcoming records
We can surely see the need for this, but we are not prepared to spend the time needed for this extensive section. With the search function however, you will more easily be able to go back to News entries with release info. What records will be released and when, it's all there.

Reader comments
Some of you want to be able to publish your own comments in connection to our texts, like after a review. This might be introduced later on, but let's start with a Messageboard and take it from there. This is something we really believe in and why shouldn't you readers or bands we review be able to speak out? In the printed Release we always has a reader's letters section.

More links
There is a demand for more links throughout our texts. For example, you could always be able to reach an artists web page by clicking on their name. We could link a lot more, sure. But we want to spend that time elsewhere, like on the actual Links section which can be improved to start with. URL:s are also changed more often than you think and there are we can imagine more fun ways to spend our remaining life than constantly editing old pages.

Music and video
We write about music, but you can rarely listen to it at Release. We could add lots of clips and streams, yes, but it would take a lot of energy. Maybe we will in the future, but while we're busy, you have to check it out elsewhere. If band and label sites doesn't offer music, check out Internet stores.

Comments to Playlist and year lists
Of course, it would be useful to know something about the stuff we list. When time permits, we would be glad to add this. In the meantime, you can, in most cases, read about it elsewhere on the site. We think a straight list is better than none. These are not the most important sections.

Quick polls
This could be nice. Not a difficult matter at all. Once we start, you can expect a long row of polls.

Newsletter/mailing list
This is an obvious addition for the future. You should be able to subscribe to a mail with the latest News and info on what we have added on the site. Then you can chose if you want to read the mail or the web site. This reminder will improve our visiting numbers, but will add workload.

Satisfied and happy
A lot of you seemed to be completely happy and say we make an excellent site. Thanks a lot, great!
Keep mailing us your ideas and questions.
