ZEROMANCER
SINNERS INTERNATIONAL
ALBUM TRISOL RELEASE: FEBRUARY 16, 2009 REVIEW: FEBRUARY 27, 2009

There has been quite a lot of good Release type music coming from Norway throughout the years. Apoptygma Berzerk, Röyksopp Echo Image, A-ha and Bel Canto to name a few. Unfortunately I can't count Zeromancer among them. At least not this latest effort, as it's quite boring indeed.

You would think that a band with an image like Zeromancer's would want to sound heavy and angry, but unfortunately they don't. There's no aggression, no edge, no memorable melodies, no depth to the sound, no fatness, nothing that stands out. Just bland washes of guitar and sometimes a standard synth bass. It's just a grey mass in my mind, and furthermore, I still can't remember a single track.

The album is not outright bad, it's just dull. If you want hard guitar pop, seek out Apoptygma, and if you want hard electro rock, check out Celldweller.
