OUT FOR BLOOD
ALBUM VENDETTA MUSIC RELEASE: OCTOBER 10, 2010 REVIEW: MARCH 8, 2011

Holy cow, this is some heavy, sleazy shit. These Vancouverites have created a beast of an album. It’s not quite as electronic as their last one, but filled to the brim with dirty guitar riffs and slow, menacing beats. Once again, they have employed the producing skills of “almost fifth member” Chris Peterson, of FLA fame. It sounds to me like he brought his A game here, creating sleazy bliss streaming out of my speakers.

My main criticism is that they’ve perhaps focused too much on being heavy, and forgot about making songs. A chord change now and then does not a song make, and the riffs sometimes sound suspiciously similar.

All in all though, this is great head-bobbing stuff, and it finishes in style with the excellent, more chilled out “Sofadermatosis”.
