RED CELL
HYBRID SOCIETY
ALBUM PROGRESS PRODUCTIONS RELEASE: SEPTEMBER 7, 2005 REVIEW: SEPTEMBER 15, 2005

We’ve heard the growling voice before, we’ve heard the drums before, we’ve heard the chord changes before, we’ve heard the sounds before, we’ve heard the guitars before, we’ve heard the melodies before. I bet some of you will enjoy this, but consider this a warning; there’s nothing new here.

What it is, however, is a party album that’s going to work wonders in clubs. It’s full-on energy to the max throughout, and it’s catchy as hell. It’s something of a continuation of the Leæther Strip sound, which is not a bad thing, it’s only that there are so incredibly many bands doing this right now, and Claus Larsen still did it better than anyone else.

Red Cell distinguish themselves by their sheer energy; there’s never time to get up for air as chugging guitars, furious drums and those all too familiar rave leads smatter around the place.

I hope you know by now if you want "Hybrid Society" or not. Nothing new in the world of modern EBM (not much is anymore), but this is executed with competence.
