PRAGER HANDGRIFF
FOSSILE BRENNSTOFFE
ALBUM ELECTRIC BLUE RELEASE: APRIL 3, 2000 REVIEW: APRIL 27, 2000

I actually found some relief in hearing the latest Prager Handgriff release. "Fossile Brennstoffe" is simple, good old-fashioned EBM and in today's climate of trying to mix and intertwine styles it's nice to hear some retro flavoured stuff. At least for a short while, since it's no display of variation.
I still like many of the songs featured on "Fossile Brennnstoffe", a collection of reworked unreleased tracks from the ten-year career of Stefan Schäfer and Volker Rathmann. With a voice so tough your knees will shake (well, maybe not), fast, hard beats and quite clever refrains, Prager Handgriff get away with sounding like the old days. Though I could have done without the political and environmental lyrics. Five plus.
