PAIN
SHUT YOUR MOUTH
SINGLE STOCKHOLM RELEASE: NOVEMBER 26, 2001 REVIEW: OCTOBER 31, 2001

Mr Pain, Peter Tägtgren, is back with the first single from his third album "Nothing Remains the Same" (January 2002). Tägtgren is a well established metal producer with over 100 records behind him (!), as well as several with his own band Hypocrisy.
"Shut Your Mouth" and the bonus song "Give It up" will not surprise anyone, but why change a winning formula? "Shut Your Mouth" is a direct and simple song with hit potential, yet quite rough and rocky. It's pop, metal, classic rock and electronic at the same time. Even though I'm not really impressed this time, I'm attracted by the accessibility of Pain, in a genre where so many loose their way. Tägtgren has used a beep melody in Rammstein fashion to contrast the heavy background. In the funny and quite silly alien/UFO video, it's from an alarm clock which wakes him up. I guess this commercial project will wake a few kids out there in the mainstream as well, and make them interested in other similar music.
