NVMPH
NUCLEAR 45 IS DEAD
ALBUM BLOODLINE, SSC, PLAYGROUND RELEASE: AUGUST 22, 2001 REVIEW: AUGUST 27, 2001

"Nuclear 45 Is Dead" is the debut from this promising band hailing from Sweden. There was once a band called Nuclear 45, but it has transformed into NVMPH. When I mention Sweden and the fact that we're talking about electronic music, many of you might think that this is yet another cheesy electropop release. It isn't, this is harsh dark electro with some noisy sounds and it reminds me of the latest Suicide Commando album "Mindstrip".
The disc starts with "White Room", which could very well be the best track on this album. It's a very hard dancefloor piece with a steady beat and extremely distorted vocals. Another remarkably good tune is "Verdict", which also has kind of a hit feeling and few power noise elements. NVMPH continue to deliver uncompromising dark electro through the entire album. That's very nice, but it bothers me a bit, almost all songs goes in the same style and sounds pretty much the same. Nevertheless, this is a good album and I would especially recommend it to fans of Wumpscut, Suicide Commando, Hocico, Infact and similar mean bands.
