MESH
FRAGMENTE 2
DOUBLE COMPILATION MEMENTO MATERIA RELEASE: SEPTEMBER 15, 2002 REVIEW: NOVEMBER 29, 2002

I should tell you straight away that I think this is a redundant release. I should also tell you that most tracks on "Fragmente 2" are great ones. A paradox, you say? Not at all. A lot of the contents on "Fragmente 2" was in fact released on "Fragmente", which, to me, is an enigma. The idea to collect B-sides, remixes and previously unreleased material is usually very popular and appreciated by the fans. In this case, however, yours truly already has all Mesh singles and most remixes. You do to, don't you? There are tracks from singles that were released after the first "Fragmente" as well as one or two exclusive remixes, but I can't see what Mesh fan will buy this compilation, aside from fanatic completists. It's still a great compilation, with many of Mesh's trademark B-side masterpieces. It's just not necessary to release some of them a second - and third - time. Spend your money on their latest studio album "Who Watches over Me?" instead.
