MENTALLO & THE FIXER
VENGEANCE IS MINE
ALBUM METROPOLIS RELEASE: JULY, 2001 REVIEW: OCTOBER 25, 2001

The Dassing brothers from Texas have joined forces again, and the result is this album. They seem to have learned something about production this time around, but alas, nothing about making songs. The album is filled with tracks that leave no mark whatsoever, with no melodies or basslines to remember. The band makes weird EBM with distorted vocals, but it's not very danceable. Some of the tracks might work on the dance floor, like "Shining One", but even that one is filled with irritating noises, trite samples and not really anything to recommend itself by. The only track that shows some coherency and finesse is "Judgement Executed", a downbeat track with a monotone bass line.
Bad and annoying sounds repeated ad nauseum makes this album really crappy. And you should buy it only if you know what you are doing.
