FRONT LINE ASSEMBLY
SHIFTING THROUGH THE LENS
SINGLE DEPENDENT (EUROPE), METROPOLIS (USA) RELEASE: MAY 28, 2010 REVIEW: JUNE 22, 2010

Finally we get to hear some new material from the industrial overlords from Canada. "Shifting Through the Lens" is the first sign of life since "Fallout", a so-so remix album out in 2007. Since then, the troups have assembled and re-aligned to produce a simply superb single.

The title track is an in your face, nuclear powered, electronic smash that will put blisters on your feet. It's truly aimed at the dance floor, and if it doesn't succeed there, there simply is no justice in the world anymore.

After that onslaught we do a left turn with "Angriff", a heavy guitar piece with a suitable German chorus. A nice surprise then awaits us with "Endless Void", a nine minute ambient number in the vein of old-school Delerium. It's not quite up there with the best FLA instrumentals, but can hold its own indeed.
