ELEGANT MACHINERY
MOVE
SINGLE OUT OF LINE, SOUND POLLUTION RELEASE: AUGUST 8, 2008 REVIEW: SEPTEMBER 18, 2008

This is one potent bolt of retro synthpop lightning. Elegant Machinery continue seamlessly on the path set with the critically acclaimed comeback single "Feel the Silence" (reviewed here). "Move" is even more infectious, suggesting that the experienced trio probably has a majestic album in the making.

The title track gives the synthpop crowd another insanely catchy pop tune. Beautiful melody, sustained vocal power and warm synth sounds make me forget that autumn has arrived here in this God forsaken country of ours. There is also a remix of "Move" that reminds me of the good old eighties extended versions. The extra track "Why", also present in two takes, is a typical extra track. Solid, but nothing special. The charming video for "Move" is on here as well.

Get the single for the superb title track and keep your fingers crossed for an equally strong album effort.
