EINSTÜRZENDE NEUBAUTEN
STRATEGIES AGAINST ARCHITECTURE III: 1991-2001
DOUBLE COMPILATION MUTE, PLAYGROUND RELEASE: OCTOBER 8, 2001 REVIEW: NOVEMBER 6, 2001

The importance of a band is often greatly overstated. In the case of Einstürzende Neubauten it is probably the opposite position. It is possibible no band has meant as much as them.
Musically, they have had great influence on the punk- and industrial scenes. Culturally, socially and politically they have shaped and influenced various sub cultures in Germany and the rest of the world.
This third "Strategies Against Architecture" compilation gathers their music from 1991 to this very year. Together with the two previous collections, it serves as a perfect introduction to Einstürzende Neubauten's world of theatrical industrial art and anarchism. The album is not a compilation in the regular manner. Some of the songs are previously unreleased or in alternate obscure versions.
I will gladly recommend you to buy all of the three compilations together with a ticket to Berlin. A few days in Kreutzberg, with Neubauten in your ears, and you will discover the meaning of your existence.
