DIARY OF DREAMS
AMOK
SINGLE ACCESSION, METROPOLIS RELEASE: MARCH 22, 2002 REVIEW: MAY 6, 2002

Most German synth bands have a tendency to sound quite similar, and Diary of Dreams is no exception. Moving in the same realms as Melotron, And One and perhaps also Dance or Die they combine elements such as piano, driving rhythms and dramatic low pitched singing as well as very traditional synth lines.
This MCD contains just the title track and new versions of three old tracks, so maybe I should not judge the band too hard, but we have really heard this before. That said, there is nothing really wrong with this disc, but there is nothing particularly special about it either. Diary of Dreams have gradually used more and more electronic equipment in their music, starting off in the goth arena, but they need to get some ideas of their own if they want to make it in the overcrowded electronic scene.
