DECENCE
THE FIRST STEP
ALBUM EXCENTRIC RELEASE: OCTOBER 20, 2003 REVIEW: JANUARY 12, 2004

I think European song contest and I think My God, how did this end up in my stereo. OK, maybe not when it comes to the lyrics, but otherwise I have to say that the debut album from Decence did not impress me at all. The songs that could be something to swing your legs to after a couple of strong ones are too slow, and although Oliver Mietzner’s voice is good, I can’t see an audience for this record, either as a live-band or as something else.
I am sad to say it, but the album “The First Step” does not have any fragments that is worth to build further on. There is nothing new or unique to be found in the music, and the European futurepop scene is already too crowded to be able to give space for another mediocre band.
