CENTURIA
DREAMS AND FEELINGS
ALBUM BLACK FLAMES RELEASE: AUTUMN, 2000 REVIEW: OCTOBER 31, 2000

In Poland, Centuria has risen to show that they master the art of etheral goth. At first, the music of Centuria sound very American, possibly because of the female vocalist, who has an angelic voice creating the etheral atmosphere, which is typical for American bands. And the woman can sing as well! The music of Centuria reminds me of the good American band This Ascension.
This album basically has no peaks and no lows either. The different tracks range from quite good to good. I sit and listen and it's pretty strong stuff coming out of your stereo system, but I somewhat lack songs with something extra, something unusual. Although, "Heaven and ..." has something of that extra spice I'm searching for. Unfortunately, Centuria almost throws that away with some very misplaced guitar riffs. Why can't they just stick with the acoustic guitars instead of spoiling the beautiful atmosphere with such orc guitars?
But all in all, "Dreams and Feelings" is a good relaxation album for fans of etheral dark music.
