CELLULOIDE
PASSION AND EXCITEMENTS

ALBUM BOREDOM RELEASE: JANUARY 29, 2007 REVIEW: JANUARY 25, 2007

In my last review of Celluloide, I described the French band’s music as retro analogue synthpop with deadpan vocals, and that hasn’t changed on this new effort. The vocals are now extremely boring, almost in a grinding way. It's quite a feat to sound this bored when you're singing about "Passion and Excitements".

The melodies haven’t gotten any better either unfortunately, and most songs just blip away into oblivion. I guess you’ll like this if you enjoyed the last one, but if you’re new to the band, I wouldn’t recommend it.
