A SPELL INSIDE
LOGINSIDE
ALBUM SCANNER RELEASE: MAY 29, 2009 REVIEW: SEPTEMBER 2, 2009

"Loginside" has to be viewed as quite the accomplishment, considering Melrow and company lost the whole album in a computer crash shortly before its planned release. A swift reformation of sounds and production still led to a 2009 date for the album. We should all be pleased about that.

A Spell Inside merged electropop with goth in the beginning, only to peel off the guitars as they went further into the nineties. "Loginside", like its most recent predecessors, relies on beautiful electronic arrangements and vocalist Melrow's increasingly potent performance. Clever, powerful choruses are in the spotlight as well, providing more than enough overall talent to lunge the band further up the fame ladder within the electropop field.

There are a number of German bands like A Spell Inside, deserving more but who keep stumbling in the shadows of Funker Vogt and the like. A damn shame.
