ROBOPOP (VI TAR CDN DIT VI KOMMER)

ALBUM KILLING MUSIC RELEASE: JUNE 28, 2006 REVIEW: NOVEMBER 2, 2006

Standing in the shadows of Slagsmålsklubben, Sweden's 047 play extremely blippy Nintendo-styled bitpop with untranslatable track names and word twists in Swedish. And most of the time, you can’t stand more than a few tracks in a row, even though the album is pretty varied. As always with these kind of bands it helps if you’re brought up on computer games, and the Amiga demo scene.

The album is filled with highs and lows, where “Pingpong”, “Robopop” and “Ankan” are among the best tracks. The energy level throughout is enough to power a small country, and gives no room for a breather. Just hang on to something and feel the wind in your hair.
