Martin Gore confirms Depeche Mode album plans

Martin Gore has told Sonic Seducer the new Depeche Mode album will be released in 2013 at the latest. A rough time schedule have been made. Andy Fletcher has previously said the the band will enter the studio in March 2012.

"Underworld Awakening" just shocked Hollywood by performing better than the last one at the cinemas, and of course it comes with an interesting soundtrack. It features Collide, Combichrist, Lacuna Coil, The Cure, Ministry, Evanescence and more, and it's out on January 31.


Dependent delivers 10th "Septic" compilation this week

On January 27 Dependent Records delivers the 10th "Septic" compilation. For 12 years the "Septic" series have focused on presenting new industrial and hard electronics. The concept and artwork idea have remained the same.

"Septic X" includes tracks from acts like KMFDM, Dismantled, Skold, Edge of Dawn, Acretongue, Imperative Reaction and many more signed as well as unsigned bands.


Front 242 takes a break

Front 242 have announced that they need a break from their European touring (after May 1).

- Totally by surprise and incomprehensible for us, we received a cancellation message, Amphi festival says.

Front 242 cancel their Amphi Festival (Cologne) and Nocturnal Culture Night (Deutzen) concerts. The current tour with stops in The Netherlands, Sweden and Belgium is not affected.

Front 242 have not released new studio material since the 2003 album "Pulse" but have toured extensively.


System goes through archive

Stockholm based minimal electro project System have been digging through their archives and will release the compilation "Evolution" next week, on January 24, on Progress Productions.

There will also be an extremely limited edition of this compilation – only seven copies worldwide (!) – which comes on a pre-loaded MP3 player, including 5 bonus tracks that will never be released anywhere else.


Pet Shop Boys recording new album with r'n'b producer

The Pet Shop Boys just posted on their web page that they've started working on a new album this week, in Los Angeles. The producer this time is a guy called Andrew Dawson, who has worked with Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Beyonce, Snoop Dogg and many more. This makes me quite worried I must say, but I guess we will have to see how this pans out.


Orbital goes all "Wonky"

"Wonky" is the title of the new Orbital album, their first in 8 years. It's produced by Flood, of Depeche Mode, Nitzer Ebb and U2 fame, and it's out on April 1.

The two brothers will also play a 6 date tour of the UK ending with a huge gig at the Royal Albert Hall on April 10.
