Stefan Ackermann from Das Ich severely ill

We are sorry to hear that Stefan Ackermann, vocalist of Das Ich, is severely ill. He has received intensive care for over two weeks.

- The prospect of a complete recovery is uncertain. We hope that Stefan's recovery will improve through the positive force of love, compassion and best wishes from his fans, band mate Bruno Kramm writes.


Bleep.com prepare for Sonar with daily free MP3:s

Bleep.com, the online store of Warp Records, is giving away free MP3:s all this week in preparation for Sonar music festival in Barcelona. The festival, considered by many to be the premier electronic music festival in Europe, if not the world, begins June 16. Each day Bleep.com will be releasing two MP3:s of artists appearing at the event, then keeping them online for 24 hours before taking them down and replacing them, so if you want them, get in there fast!

Release will be representing at Sonar, which has probably one of its best line-ups in years. Among the artists performing at this event will be (in no particular order): Aphex Twin, Barcelona Laptop Orchestra, Alva Noto & Ryuichi Sakamoto, Trentemøller, Africa Hitech, Chris Cunningham, Little Dragon, James Holden, Global Communication, M.I.A., Magnetic Man, Underworld and The Human League (pic).


Two thirds of And One quit

Two members of And One - Chris Ruiz and Gio van Oli - have left And One to form Takt. The delivered the farewell message in a video clip. Apparently, Rick Shah and Joke Jay have re-joined Steve Naghavi on stage.


Melotron complete the Amphi Festival

Melotron, Rome and Musik Soldat (Wolfgang Flür) is added to the now complete line-up Amphi Festival 2011 in Cologne (July 16-17). The program also includes previously booked Nitzer Ebb, Die Krupps, Deine Lakaien, Hocico, Leather Strip, Ordo Rosarius Equilibrio, In the Nursery, Mind.in.a.box, Kirlian Camera, Dreadful Shadows, De/Vision, Grendel and many more.

Amphi stands out by offering a beach club complete with sand and beach chairs next to the Rhein river. This year, Amphi also adds another chill-out area with 700 seats next to the beach club.
