August 6, 2009 | By: Johan Carlsson (Gothenburg, Sweden)

On September 9 it's time to find that bomb shelter and take cover, because that's the date when the new Angelspit album "Hideous and Perfect" hits the street. Ferocious guitars, abrasive synthetic sounds, harsh beats and aggressive vocals are the main ingredient here, together with some striking imagery.

Angelspit formed in Sydney in 2004 and consists of Zoog and Destroyx.

New Skinny Puppy album and tour in 2009

August 2, 2009 | By: Johan Carlsson (Gothenburg, Sweden)

The official Skinny Puppy MySpace page has put up a somewhat cryptic message that the page has been taken over and that we can rely on it for info regarding the band. It then goes on to say that a new album and a tour will happen in 2009! And that's it. No more exact details, but we know from an interview earlier this year that the line-up is Cevin Key, Ogre and Mark Walk. There is also some input from Otto von Schirach and Aaron from Venetian Snares. They will be using similar techniques to those used when they made "Remission" in the early eighties. The sound will have a lot of crunch, and the rhythms will not sound like the ones on "Mythmaker".

In other related news, we're awaiting three more albums from the Subconscious camp in the form of new Download, Plateau and Tear Garden in a "Beyond the Vault" series. Pre-orders are expected to begin now in August.

Furthermore, one of Cevin's Scaremeister tracks aimed for use in movies or games for example, has been licensed to Transformers 2.

Third album from Greek Marsheaux

August 2, 2009 | By: Tobias Eliasson (Gothenburg, Sweden)

Marsheaux released their third album ”Lumineux Noir” on July 10 through Undo Records and Out of Line. It’s mainly a digital download but will also have limited physical release as a double CD. As always with this female duo from Greece they have worked hard with creating something special for the disc, this time creating a cover that you have to destroy in order to open it. This is however only for the version from Undo, the Out of Line version being an ordinary digipak.
