New Bauhaus album "Go Away White"

Feb 13, 2008 | By: Alex Veronac (Geneva, Switzerland)

Bauhaus live in 2005.

Filed under "they said it would never happen", but it finally came to light: UK's grandiose goths Bauhaus will really have a new album released next month. The original four members had spent 18 days in a studio north of Los Angeles trying to rejuvenate their original atmospheric jibe.

Bauhaus' last studio record was 1983's "Burning from the Inside". The ten new songs on "Go Away White" are yours to decide on, when they are released on March 4 on Cooking Vinyl (USA). Tracks "Adrenaline" and "Endless Summer of the Damned," were performed live during a summer 2006 tour with Nine Inch Nails.

As reported in January, Bauhaus aftermath project Love and Rockets will perform a reunion concert April 27 at Coachella Valley Music and Arts festival in California.

Krister Linder sure keep himself busy

Feb 4, 2008 | By: Johan Carlsson (Sundbyberg, Sweden)

After providing Kent with a fantastic remix of their track "Columbus", Krister Linder wrote the music for Johan Renck's first full length movie "Downloading Nancy". He's currently working on both a score for "Metropia" – an animated feature with Juliette Lewis – and a new album with Enter the Hunt where he explores the heavier and guitary side of music.

To top it off, we'll see the new single "Turning Daisies" (SSC) under his own name on February 10 which you can watch here – and you should because it's bloody brilliant.

A band inspired by Depeche Mode, Recoil and Radiohead sounds like the perfect match for Swedish indie label Memento Materia. Enter Sadman, a duo (Mattias Räftegård and Lars Fernström) from Southern Sweden which mixes the sombre and harsh, the soft and hard, which will be displayed on their debut album "Cold in the State of Me" to be released as soon as April. Early that month the digital maxi "Cold EP" sees the light of day. Their web site offers a glimpse of the album.

Leaether Strip awaits new CD release

Feb 1, 2008 | By: Peter Marks (Portland, Oregon, USA)

"Civil Disobedience" (Alfa-Matrix), the new double album from Claus Larsen, is set to be released on April 11.

For you die-hards, a limited run with a bonus album "One Nine Eight Two" is also available. Persistent requests for live appearances have thus far been met with refusals but perhaps given anniversarial nature of the this album, Leaether Strip will again play out for the crowds. Larsen played live in the past. Release organised Leather Strip's first concert in Sweden in the nineties.

Portion Control speak

Feb 1, 2008 | By: Peter Marks (Portland, Oregon, USA)

"Machine Code" (Portion-Control.net) is rapidly nearing completion and should see release in the spring. PC member John Whybrew states that it is the band's most uncompromising album to date.

In related band news, the "Archive" release of their back-catalogue is now sold out and available via, ahem, I-Tunes. Live dates have not been announced as of yet due to the secretive nature of Portion Control's recording schedule, except for Wave Gotik Treffen. Stand by.
