Gahan wrote and produced the songs in collaboration with Christian Eigner and Andrew Phillpot of the Depeche Mode touring band in New York while Depeche Mode were catching their breath.

Jun 20 2007 | By: Johan Carlsson (Stockholm, Sweden)

I recently got word from Hans Erkendahl in classic Swedish synthpop band Mobile Homes about their new material. The single "Close" is soon upon us, produced by Sami Sirviö from Kent, and mixed by electronica artist Andreas Tilliander. It's said to be a trip back to the time when Mobile Homes released the vinyl singles "Feeling Better" and "Let This Be Forever".

Mobile Homes will play the new single at Debaser Medis in Stockholm on July 7, together with ex-Kraftwerker Wolfgang Flür on his Electro Knirsch tour, with danceable tunes and remixes from both Yamo and Kraftwerk.

Up and down for Swedish festivals

Jun 20 2007 | By: Mikael Kahrle (Gothenburg, Sweden)

The Arvika Festival this year is going to be sold-out shortly (15 000 tickets).

The Peace & Love Festival is already sold-out.

But last weekend's Hultsfred Festival only sold 23 339 tickets. The organisers hoped for a lot more and the 2005 and 2006 festivals were sold-out. The ticket price was 25% higher this year. Hultsfred will be back 2008 (June 13-14) though.

40 of the 2007 Hultsfred concerts were filmed, among them the successful but rainy night concert with Pet Shop Boys.
