Norway's Frost search for the golden pop era

Dec 27 2006 | By: Johan Carlsson (Stockholm, Sweden)

The duo Frost is from Norway and consists of Aggie Peterson and Per Martinsen, and together they make smooth, melodious electropop. Their latest single “Sleepwalker” is a delightful and dreamy pop track with a fat, bouncy bass line.

The single is from the upcoming album album, which they are currently working on. Their mission statement is to search for the lost pop of the golden era when wonder and creativity had as big a place in pop music as pure commerciality and copyism has had in the last decades. Sounds good, doesn’t it?

New moody project from former Lycia founder

Dec 27 2006 | By: Peter Marks (Portland, Oregon, USA)

John Fair, co-founder of the US phenomena Lycia has announced a new project entitled Paper Gods. This new outing is a moodier, symphonic effort from Mr. Fair and only has an EP out currently that is available via the band's MySpace site. Further work will be executed in the near future although no live shows have as yet been announced.

A member of Lycia from their earliest beginnings in 1988, John Fair dropped out of the band around the time of their defining album, 1991's Ionia. Fair returned to the fold briefly during the abortive sessions for Lycia's final album "Empty Space". He is not a member of Lycia for the latest reformation. As to Will Welch's wherabouts, it's pretty much anyone's guess at this time.
